Tox vs. Fillers

The injectables have been rising to fame over the last decade. The most popular injectable skin treatments are Tox and Fillers. Is it confusing for you to make the right choice between them? Maybe knowing the differences between them can help you find a suitable treatment option for you.

What is Tox?

Tox is shortened name for botulinum toxin. It works by temporarily weakening or relaxing muscle activity, which ends up smoothening certain areas of your face.

Tox is most commonly used on the upper face. This skin treatment is FDA-approved for forehead lines, crow’s feet, glabellar lines, etc. Its effects may take up to 10 days to set in and lasts for about 3 to 4 months. With its use, you can also prevent future wrinkles.

How does Tox Cosmetic work?

Tox is a minimally invasive, in-office treatment. When you visit Love Medical Spa for Tox, we will look into your medical history, medical conditions, allergies, or medications you consume before going for the procedure.

At the time of treatment, we will remove your makeup and cleanse the area to be treated. Using a thin needle, we will administer the required number of injections of Tox. This may range from about 3-5 injections. The whole process will be done in a few minutes.

What are Fillers?

Dermal fillers, or soft tissue fillers, are injected under the surface of the skin to instantly restore volume and soften fine lines as well as wrinkles.

Filler can also be used to create lift, contour, and definition. Its results can be seen on the same day of treatment and may last up to 6-18 months, depending on the type of filler.

Filler FDA approvals range from lips, cheeks, chin, nasolabial folds, and more! (depending on the brand of filler) The process is almost the same as that of getting a Tox.

Tox or Fillers: Which one of them is more effective?

The effectiveness of these skin treatments depends wholly on your requirements. For instance, Fillers treat your facial lines that are resting, while Tox treats the lines you mainly use for expressions!

We assure you that our registered nurse, Roland Murphy, can help you make the right choice.
