With the advancement in technology, we have many skin treatment options to make you look young and beautiful for a long time. You might have already heard a lot about Tox and Dysport. Well, Tox and Dysport are botulinum toxin type A injections. They work the same way by paralyzing muscles that cause wrinkles. Both work to relax muscles around the forehead, eyes, and mouth.
Tox and Dysport are both botulinum toxins derived from the same bacteria. However, they are slightly different.
Tox binds to the receptors on nerves and muscles. These receptors are specific for acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter that is actively transported from the nerve ending to the muscle. When Tox binds to the receptors, this prevents acetylcholine from binding to its receptor. This interruption prevents acetylcholine from activating its receptor, preventing it from being transported to the muscle.
When botulinum toxin is injected into the muscles, it prevents acetylcholine from binding to the receptor on the muscle, preventing it from contracting. This ultimately leads to muscle relaxation.
Dysport works very similarly to Tox; however, it binds to the receptors on nerves and muscles slightly differently.

Also, Dysport is a smaller molecule, which means it spreads more evenly in the treated area, leading to a smoother look. But, Tox has a larger molecule and stays closer to the injection site, which leads to a more precise and localized treatment.
Tox and Dysport are both safe and effective. They rarely cause any side effects. In some cases, patients may experience mild bruising, redness, or swelling in the injection area. These effects typically resolve within a few days.
