Instead, try using a cleanser that contains only biodegradable ingredients that are certified as safe for human use. These will have a much gentler effect on your skin and still effectively clean it.

Myth 2: Cleanse Your Skin With Hot Water

The idea behind a hot water treatment is that the steam will open the pores and help release dirt and debris. However, this can actually damage your skin instead of helping it. Hot water can dry out your natural oils and strip away important moisture from your skin, causing irritation. It can also break down the lipid barrier that keeps your skin healthy. Stick to lukewarm water when cleaning your face, and you’ll do just fine.

Myth 3: Climatic Conditions Cannot Affect Your Skin

Hot, dry weather, especially when combined with high winds, can lead to skin dryness and irritation. The sun’s rays can also cause problems by causing sunburn or wrinkles. Cold winter weather can also dry out the skin, leading to cracked or chapped lips and itchy, dry skin all over the body. Wind can also make it tough for your skin to retain moisture, which can lead to skin peeling or chapping. Humid climates can add to the skin problems caused by cold weather as the air becomes very moist which can contribute to clogged pores or acne breakouts.

Moisturizers and sunscreen are your first line of defense against the effects of weather on your skin. These products help to protect the skin from moisture loss, sunlight damage, windburn, and more. You should also be sure to drink plenty of water to hydrate your body from the inside out. Staying indoors during harsh weather conditions can also help to prevent skin irritations or sunburn.
