Having clean and clear skin is what everyone wishes for! IPL skin rejuvenation treatment is quite popular these days. It can cure various skin conditions like skin pigmentation, wrinkles, acne, etc.

What actually is IPL therapy?

IPL is the abbreviation of Intense Pulsed Light. This broadband light therapy work wonders upon the controlled wounds on the skin and makes it heal on its own with the help of new cells. This skin rejuvenation technology encourages the production of new collagen, reducing fine lines, and improving skin elasticity.

At Love Medical Spa, we have invested in this technology to help our patients get any discoloration issues on the skin, i.e., brown and red spots removed. This condition probably occurs due to sun damage or broken capillaries.

What are the different conditions that IPL therapy can help treat?

If you have any of the following conditions, you may qualify for IPL therapy:

  • Rosacea
  • Wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation (brown spots)
  • Freckles
  • Spider veins
  • Problem with the skin texture
  • Large pores that are visible
  • Stretch marks
  • Melasma
  • Excessive flushing
  • Age or sun spots
  • Broken capillaries

IPL is not just used to treat the skin ailments on your face, but also used on the neck, chest, back, arms, hands, and legs. Results can start appearing in about 1-2 treatments, but for the desired look, it may take up to 3-5 treatments as recommended by our nurse, Roland Murphy.

What involves in the IPL treatment process?

Here are some of the steps that we will follow here in Love Medical Spa as part of the procedure:

  • We will take you to our special laser room and begin by administering medication to help you stay relaxed and reduce discomfort.
  • In order to protect your eyes, eye pads or special glasses will be provided.
  • Then a cool topical gel is applied onto the area to be treated so that you don’t feel the heat from the intensity of light used for treatment.
  • After that, we place the glass surface of the equipment on the area of skin to be treated and flash the light.
  • Once done, we will wipe out the gel, wipe it again with a warm cloth and apply a moisturizer following sunscreen.
  • If there is any swelling on your face, we will give you an ice pack to curb it.
